The Hon’ble Board of Directors of Pragati Insurance Limited is pleased to announce that Mr. Md. Reazul Karim, who has recently completed his tenure successfully as CEO (16-07-2017 to 14-11-2021), has been appointed as the Advisor of this company from 15th November 2021.
Mr. Md. Rezaul Karim former Managing Director of state owned Sadharan Bima Corporation joined in Pragati Insurance Limited as Chief Executive Officer in 2017. He has long versatile and outstanding carrier in the field of Insurance sector. Mr. Karim was born in 1954 in Kushtia. He obtained his B.Com. (Honors) degree in Management from the University of Rajshahi in the year 1976 and also obtained M. Com degree in Management from the University of Dhaka in 1977. Afterwards, he joined at Sadharan Bima Corporation as Trainee Officer in February, 1981. He retired from the SBC on 13th December, 2015. He has 35 years work experience in SBC. During this long service period he served in SBC with various capacities. Last of all he served as Managing Director in SBC about 8 years.
Mr. Md. Rezaul Karim former Managing Director of SBC carries with him commendable and outstanding experience in the field of General Insurance. He is an expert of Re-insurance and visited England, Malaysia, China, India and Thailand for Re-insurance purpose. He obtained several trainings on Insurance in home and abroad. He was the Vice-chairman of Asian Re-Insurance Corporation, Thailand from 2013 to December 13, 2015. He was the Director of the Board of Asian Re-Insurance Corporation, Bangkok, Thailand; Bangladesh Insurance Academy, Dhaka; Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB), National Tea Company (NTC) Limited; Central Depository Bangladesh Ltd. (CDBL); IDLC Finance Limited; Aramit Limited; National Housing and Finance Limited (NHFL) and CAPM Venture capital Limited. He was also the Chairman of SBC Brokerage House.
He is associated with number of social organizations. Mr. Karim blessed with a son and a daughter. He has keen interest in music and sports.
